Yesterday another good ride MTB: Possagno - Archeson.
I leave the car at Pagnano and foggy, I headed to Possagno, the starting point of the climb.
I take the road to the left of the Temple of Canova, signs House Sacred Heart. The road rises initially quite steep, has many bends and the bottom is mixed: asphalt pavement. After the largest religious structure, the fund shall-cemented gravel, with some sections still quite steep.
At the first junction following the signs to the left for Villa Viola, continues a few hundred meters and the bottom becomes rocky-dirt, because of the rain / snow in recent days become slippery, so much so that I make a harmless tumble that convinces me to go back to the junction.
time change direction and take the left fork (right climbing) and a new junction of three roads continue for the middle one. The trail climbs steeply up ground ice / snow, which makes me not a little snort (I reached the day of HRmax: 176bpm) and in some cases forcing me, against my will to get off the bike.
finally came out on the asphalt road that runs from the Tomb all'Archeson. Forces began arriving here a little 'lacking, but I want to go out at all costs from that terrible fog. So I face the miles of paved climb that separate me from the junction of Castle Cesilia, 1,100 meters, where the left part of a road that goes down to Possagno (Strada degli Alpini).
only now beginning to see a little 'light: just what we wanted to reinvigorate the new force the now tired muscles. Still a little way and finally here, I go out of the fog and the landscape is fantastic: the blue sky above a white cloud and winding road that climbs up to my goal of the day, the Archeson. I get in a picture-postcard setting, the background (see photo) began to appear as Mount Cesen.
finally arrive, photos of the ritual, and I change down the jump of the Goat. In
I do get a lot of attention, the initial stretch, the more steep, snow is super. Then I dip back into a fog even more fearful of the precedent, and I do not see it at 10m distance.
